Caller Verification
Caller verification is on by default for organisations created from October 2026. Older organisations keep their existing setting, and an Owner can change it in Settings, Caller verification.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”- Open Settings, Caller verification.
- Turn on Require caller verification.
- Choose a verification validity period of 1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes.
- Select Save, then confirm the change.
When enabled, password resets and account unlocks require a fresh recorded verification.
Record a check
Section titled “Record a check”- Start a password reset or account unlock.
- Choose how you verified the caller.
- If you choose Other, enter the required description.
- Select Record and continue.
Bulk actions
Section titled “Bulk actions”A bulk password reset or unlock needs one verification record that covers the whole batch. The record stores the number of accounts, and the action is refused if the batch you submit has a different count. By recording it you state that you verified the caller for every account in the batch.
You are responsible for it being true
Section titled “You are responsible for it being true”The technician who records a check is responsible for the statement being true. The record is signed with the technician’s name and cannot be edited. Velauth records what the technician says. It cannot check that the call-back or the other check really took place.
What this does not do
Section titled “What this does not do”Caller verification records the operator’s selected method. It does not determine directory permissions. Turning it off is restricted to an Owner.
