First Connection
Velauth Desktop never connects to Active Directory and holds no AD credentials. It sends requests through the broker to the Velauth Agent, which runs as a gMSA service account and connects to the domain.
The five onboarding steps
Section titled “The five onboarding steps”- Terms & Privacy: open the legal links and accept the checkbox to continue.
- Welcome: review the introduction to domain connection, the trial, and the operator-role preference.
- Domain: enter the domain controller address and select Test connection. The Agent uses its own service account. This page does not ask for an AD username or password.
- Licence: start the free 45-day trial or enter a licence key. The trial starts automatically. You can enter a licence key later in Settings, Billing.
- Role: choose Administrator, Operator, or Auditor as a local display preference. This does not set your permissions.
Select Finish to save the role preference. When the connection test succeeded, Velauth saves and connects the forest.
If the test fails
Section titled “If the test fails”- Confirm the Agent is installed and enrolled for the forest.
- Confirm the Agent can reach the domain controller.
- Retry the test from the Domain step or from Settings, Domains.
